Seesaw is a digital learning journal that is so easy to use because they designed it with young students in mind. And the best part - it is free!
The below video, from Seesaw, does a great job explaining the app.
Once a student scans the QR code, they have four options regarding adding information to their journal - photo, video, drawing or selecting from the camera roll. Each option also allows you to voice record and add text to it. I am just amazed at the engaged learning that could take place - think of the possibilities!
As a teacher, you can log into your account either via the app or the website. You can approve the content before it is added to a student's journal, and you have the option to look at the information as a whole class or for an individual student. Students can see other's work, so you will need to make sure you are diligent in approving material.
You also have the option to invite parents to see student work. And you can customize student profiles.
Seesaw has a wonderful help section just for teachers, filled with activity ideas and how to articles. They even have a section on how to use Seesaw in the classroom if you only have one device, a few devices or a classroom set.
I know I'm a fan! Hope you become one too!
Until next time...
